Middle Middle Run Tuesday night

This kayaking blog has been quiet for a while lately but I have been on the river quite a bit.  After 2 weeks or so of no boating I got on the middle section of the middle fork of the Snoqualmie River, cleverly nicknamed the 'Middle Middle'.  It's only 30 minutes away and makes for a great after work run.  After being low for quite a while the snow is finally melting and the river was at a healthy meduim flow which makes this run a lot more fun.

This was the first time I've looked up and not seen snow in the mountains.  Just huge green trees.  Spring is finally upon us.

There were about 25 kayakers on the river spread out between 3 groups.  It's great to look upstream and see a big group of your friends running the river but is also a drag when waiting in line to surf a wave.  Oh well.

The level was just above 1800 cfs when we left and above 2200 when we got back home.  It was a great level.

This weekend should be fun with the water levels coming up.  Making plans...
