Sauk River @ 7000 cfs - 5/26/07

I ran the Sauk River for the first time on Saturday 5/26/07.  This was day one of the Memorial Day weekend. I've heard that this is a fun run that is a step up from the Middle Middle but easier than the Sky.  I think this is an appropriate description.   The flow was fairly high and from what others who had been on the run said the rapids were starting to flush.

This was a fun Class III to III+ run that had some holes you definitely wanted stay away from but for the most part was straight forward.

The trip included Samson, Kyle, Shawna, Heather, Carter, Texas Dave, Paul, and John.  We had one swim but other than that the trip was really pleasant.  Texas Dave and I made a quick 10' seal launch off of a rock.  Dave styled it but I went in with too much angle and flipped and then got caught in a whirlpool in the eddy line.  Lame!

Here is Dave's seal launch
