Cle Elum River - Play Run @ ~2000cfs - 5/28/07

Despite dragging my creek boat along all Memorial Day weekend it didn't look like I was going to put it to use.  Disappointing but we got on the river none the less.  We did the play run stretch of the Cle Elum again.  It was a bit lower so the run wasn't as big as it was the previous day but the play that was in was a lot better.  I consider that a fair sacrifice.

This run included Leif and John M from yesterday as well as James and Dirk (Bellingham boater).  The sun was out, it was warm and a great relaxing day on the river.  We played on several waves and holes that were much better with the lower flows.  No carnage either.

Packing up camp to hit the river (day 3 in a row!)

Leif on a great surf wave on the Cle Elum River - Play Run

Video of James surfing the same wave.  He cleaned many flat spins but didn't get footage of it... only one of him flushing off the wave after a spin.  Sorry, he really is better than it looks in the video.
