This is probably a good audience to tell this to. i just read
an article in our local free weekly alternative paper
The Stranger that the Sonics were sold for $350 million to a business man in OKC. They are talking about moving the Seattle Sonics to OKC since there was such a demand for the New Orleans team (Can't think of the name of the team) last season.
My personal opinion? I don't care. The think I like most about the Sonics is that they are associated with Seattle and it increases awareness of Seattle. The thing I don't like is they create horrible traffic when there is a game. I have never been to a game. I was going to once for free but decided not to. I know some of my friends have gone but my friends don't really care about sports. Is the NBA still in season? I don't even know.
There is obviously people that go to the games but I don't know who they are. I doubt many of them actually live in Seattle. They commute into "the city" for an evening.
I am a poor judge to if the city of Seattle opinion is on this. It would be sad to see a team leave that has been here for years but that how business works, right?
