What is the Reader?

If you look at the navigation menu there is a button for Reader.  I'm not sure if you have explored that section but it looks pretty blah.  So what's the point?

This is the feature I use the MOST!  This is a built in RSS Feed Reader.  The main reason I use my site for my RSS reader is because it forces me to use the site everyday.

Now, what is RSS?  RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.  It is getting very popular on the Intranet and it's primary purpose is to consume information such as news, articles, blogs, etc. without having to visit many different sites.  Wikipedia has a great explanation as well here.

In the past I have subscribed to MANY RSS feeds and it gets overwhelming fast.  So I use it to keep up to date with blogs.  Blogs are such a cool way to keep up to date with whatever you are interested in.  I use it to view my companies blogs and more importantly my clients blogs.

Go to http://www.technorati.com/ and do a search for whatever you are interested in and bam!  ther are several blogs you can subscribe to it.  AND if anyone else ever starts blogging on here (that's a slam) then you can add your blog and people can then subscribe to your blog and read what you are talking about.

I had trouble with this so... How to add a new feed.  Right click and click 'New Feed'.

You must submit an RSS feed URL.
