 | Last weekend I didn't get to hit the river BUT I did get out of town. My friend Jake and I headed down to Portland to meet up with the Zoobombers. Who are they? They a group of crazy people down in Portland that ride (or bomb) mini bikes (kid bikes) down a huge 3 mile down hill from the Portland Zoo into downtown. Hints the name Zoo - bomb. Last weekend they had their annual Mountain Bomb down Mt. Hood. |
After meeting some guys in Portland we gave a few a ride and caravaned to Mt. Hood. What a great mountain. It's the same place where my friends JD and Callie go married last summer.
| Saturday we did 6 bombs down the 6 mile downhill from the top parking lot of Mt. Hood Timberline to Government Camp...the town at the bottom of the hill. Sunday we did 3 runs before Jake and I had to roll out and head back to Seattle...a 4 hour drive that turned into a 6 hour drive b/c of traffic and pit stops. | |
We reached speeds of 45-50 mph!!! What a rush. You can really fly while on a childs bicycle.

We were getting a litte tired on the way home while the sun was setting. While reflecting on a great trip the only thing we decided that could have made it better was having a river at the base of the mountain to swim in and with rope swing to play with. No lie, 10 minutes down the road we saw a river and said, let's go swimming!! When we got to a play spot on the river a small bridge had a ROPE SWING!! Yeah!! Too funny. We later said it would be great to have a car full of hot girls drive by us but that never happened.
